Music is called an art: your participation determines the outcome.
Science however also is determined on (y)our participation for the outcome.
We determine the outcome of science by the way we think and the tools we make.
In the same way we determine our sensation by the instruments we use and the tunes we play in music.

There is no formal understanding of the scope and effect of music.
Music is called an art; every composition is an exploration.
True, to some extent the effect of music is used to manipulate your emotions.
The movie industry, advertising and politics make use of this; as do churches.

You can gauge for yourself that effect of music on how you feel; and on your body.
Tyrants use the drumbeat to entrance soldiers in a state of mindless (suggestible) hypnosis.
But likewise you can use the sound of your own voice to vibrate your body, and mind.
Shamans, the world over, have used this to navigate their consciousness as they choose.

Science always starts with uniquely individual experience: empiricism.
Science then follows up on that by researchers sharing findings; correspondence.
Science then brings the findings together in brochures: publications.
Science then accepts that as the ‘established outcome’: consensus.

We always do the same in our experience of music, which is uniquely individual.
We share our subjective experiences, even though we cannot ‘objectively’ describe it.
Together we can then explore what music actually is, and how it is ‘feeds our soul’.
That will lead to a fundamental art of music, as effective for our experience of the subjective, as science does for all that is ‘objective’.
